After having most of my long training runs in preparation for Blue Ridge Marathon be in freezing cold, crappy weather, I am happy to report that a 17 miler and a 20 miler in March were in HEAVENLY, BALMY temps in the 40’s and 50’s. Wheeee! Perfect running weather.
One more 20 miler left and then taper begins for Blue Ridge Marathon. I’m ready for a marathon. As in, I know I can cover the distance. What I’m not so sure I’m ready for is the MOUNTAINS. I haven’t done a lot of hill training, mostly because of the weather (it has been way too cold and slippery to do hill repeats). The past couple weeks I’ve been making more of an effort to make my miles hilly. Fingers crossed that it’s enough.
I’m feeling so thankful for being healthy enough to tackle another marathon! Life is so good. 🙂
