I was a little nervous about my Thursday run, which was supposed to be 14 miles with 8 at goal marathon pace. But apparently s’mores and red wine are good fuel for marathon paced runs, because I was right on (aiming for 8:05 pace, which is a 3:32 marathon; all my MP miles were between 8:02 – 8:04). Most importantly, it FELT like marathon pace – not too fast and not too slow. Just right. Probably also helped that my run was on the north shore, so the temps were much cooler than what we are experiencing in the cities.
It was a great 4th of July. Family. Food. Fun.
