I had a nooner today. Not the Al Bundy kind. 🙂 The running-12-miles-in-80-degree-heat-at-noon kind. Crazy? Maybe. But someone from my running group was looking to get his long run done before going out of town for the weekend, and I happened to have a meeting over near the lakes where he was running. So nooner it was. 🙂 And it felt good, except afterwards my ankle felt wonky. Not sure why because I don’t remember doing anything to it. Ugggg.
I was talking with a friend yesterday about my training and commented about how I felt like I was over my ideal race weight. I said I hadn’t weighed myself in months, but if I had to guess, I would say I was at 122. So when I was at the health club for my nooner, I weighed myself and guess what I weighed?? 121.7 Funny how well you get to know your own body when you spend so much time working out (and, in my case lately, eating). So – confirmed – I’m 5 pounds over my ideal race weight, which – for me – is 117. Ugggg, no wonder why I’ve been feeling so heavy and icky lately. (And the non-runner blog readers can hold the comments, because I KNOW I’m not overweight; that’s not my point. I’m just over my good race weight. Big difference.) So, when I officially kick off Chicago training in two weeks, I’ll work on heading towards race weight (which shouldn’t be a problem when the miles increase). Today, I didn’t worry about race weight and instead I celebrated my 12 mile nooner with a trip to dairy queen and got a medium oreo blizzard. 🙂
