Life was crazy busy, so I never posted week #4 of Lansing Training, which was last week. Not that any of you even care. 🙂 But I like having records of things so I can go back and see what went right/wrong/etc.
In general, week #4 seemed like a step backwards to me. Gone were the planks. I don’t think I even did one. Gone were the weights. Gone was the cross training. Gone was the hill work. Life was so busy, with trial prep, trial and then catching up with life/work post-trial. But I was happy to at least get some miles in, even if it wasn’t what I wanted.
Summary:
- Miles run: 41.5
- Pilates: 1 time
- Cross, weights, planks: Zero times. UGGGGGGGGGGG!
Details:
- M: 8 miles (9:01) w/ 2 x 1000m at 5k pace; 2 x 400m at mile pace; 2 x 200m all out.
- T: pilates
- W: 6.2 miles (9:12)
- Th: rest
- F: 6.2 miles (8:55)
- Sa: 16.1 miles (9:22)
- Su: 5 miles (9:48)
There you have it. On to week #5. Oh, wait, I’m almost done with week #5! And so far no planks, no cross, no weights, no hills this week either. Ugggggg!
BUT, I am not going to let the fact that I have now had two weeks where work/life interfered from the planned workouts and extras get me down. This is only week #5. Of 17. So I have 12 more weeks. Plenty of time. Especially considering some of the marathon plans I’ve followed have only been 12 weeks long. Stay tuned.
