Recovering!


Yes, those are my recovery socks.  And a glass of red wine.  I’m recovering.  Not from a marathon marathon.  From a Toys For Tots marathon.  We finished Toys For Tots distribution day today – giving out over 2100 toys for 745 kids.  I’ve been working on coordinating this since September and the last two weeks have been insanely busy and exhausting with all there has been to do for it.  But, similar to marathon race day, distribution day today was rewarding and made me happy and satisfied to have put in all the hard work since September.  When I got home today my legs and body literally felt like I had run hard, and nothing sounded better than the snugness of my recovery socks, kicking my legs up and having a glass of pinot.  As much as I am relieved to be done with TFT, I have to admit that I’m a little worried that now I will have too much time on my hands and I’ll just dwell on my personal issues now.

So this week will be filled with Christmas stuff that I still have to get done – luckily it’s all stuff I love:  shopping and baking!  Speaking of Christmas, the Wham tune seems like its on every time I turn the radio on and is now STUCK in my head:

Long run tomorrow, since I did zero today (except my TFT marathon!).  I’m still technically just in base-building phase.  Marathon training officially kicks off December 26th.  Woot!  I SO need something to focus on and my 9th marathon is just the ticket!
