Look what showed up in the mail today – my prize for winning 1st place female in the Celiac 5k – a $25 gift card to Target! Yes! I can always find $25 worth of stuff I need at Target.
Yesterday’s speed workout was TOUGH! 11 miles with 6 x 1 mile intervals (with 400m recovery jog between intervals). Goal pace was 7:20 – 7:30. (I randomly chose that pace; the instructions said they should be run at a pace that you could do all 6 at; I knew if I picked much faster that I wouldn’t be able to do all 6 at pace) Ended up with: 7:18, 7:19, 7:19, 7:33, 7:46, 7:30. Not spot on, but good enough. It felt SO SO hard. Definitely the toughest of the intervals I’ve done so far. Made me think the 12×400’s that I thought were so tough seem like a piece of cake. These long intervals are SO much harder for me!
Big weekend of running coming up for me, with 10 miles Saturday and 20 miles Sunday. Anyone have any races or fun running things planned for the long holiday weekend?
