I do about 90% of my runs ultra early (about 4:30 a.m.). A lot of people think I’m crazy to get up that early and run. What they don’t realize is I would be CRAZY if I didn’t get up that early and run. Why? I’m a mom, lawyer, wife, puppy-owner and business owner, which means that once the family, the puppy and the rest of the world is awake, the day is not my own. Kids need rides places. The dog needs to be walked, pooped, peed and played with – a bunch. The husband has his own work and school stuff, which means I end up in charge of household/family stuff on his school days. Client meetings and court often run unexpectedly long. Other unexpected stuff happens (yesterday our heater went out and we had to wait around for the heater dude). SO – if I don’t get my run in at 4:30, life usually interferes and it might not happen. Which would make me crabby and crazy. So 4:30 a.m. it is. And I love it so much that I bounce out of bed! (Although today, with -7 temp, there was definitely a little less bounce in my step!)
